Anaheim Landing: A Historical Landmark
Soon after the founding of the mother colony at Anaheim in 1857, Anaheim Landing was established as a port of entry for the Santa Ana Valley by the Anaheim Landing Co. despite the treacherous entrance conditions which caused several disasters. Regular coastwise trade was carried on for about fifteen years.

Seal Beach came to incorporate on 25 October 1915, the town was named Seal Beach.ch was first known as Bay City, but there was already a Bay City located in Northern California. When the time came to incorporate on 25 October 1915, the town was named Seal Beach.

Seal Beach is the home of Leisure World, a gated senior citizen community of approximately 7-10,000 persons. The Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station comprises 2/3 of the land within the City.
